Apple introduces iPhone 17e
Apple has expanded its iPhone lineup with the introduction of the iPhone 17e, positioned as a more affordable member of the current generation while still delivering core flagship-level performance and features. Announced on March 2, 2026, the new model is powered by Apple’s latest A19 chip and the faster C1X cellular modem, offering smoother performance, improved efficiency, and up to double the connectivity speed compared with its predecessor. The device also features a 48 MP Fusion camera system with optical-quality 2× telephoto and advanced portrait capabilities, bringing strong imaging performance to a more accessible price point.
In design and functionality, the iPhone 17e carries forward premium elements such as the 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display with Ceramic Shield 2 for enhanced durability, support for MagSafe and Qi2 wireless charging, and all-day battery life with fast charging via USB-C. Apple has also doubled the base storage to 256 GB at the same $599 starting price as the previous entry level, giving users more space for photos, videos, apps, and games without increasing cost. The model is available in three colors — black, white, and soft pink — and opens for pre-orders on March 4 with availability starting March 11.
