Samsung Galaxy S27 and S27+ could get a new main camera
TThe Samsung Galaxy S27 series is already making headlines with fresh camera rumors, suggesting Samsung could introduce one of its biggest camera changes in years. According to recent reports, the Samsung Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ are currently being tested with a new 50MP primary camera that uses a Sony image sensor instead of Samsung's own ISOCELL sensor. This is particularly noteworthy because Samsung has traditionally relied on its in-house camera technology for flagship smartphones. While the company is still evaluating the sensor and there is no guarantee it will be included in the final devices, the testing indicates Samsung is exploring new options to further improve image quality, low-light photography, and overall camera performance for its next-generation flagship lineup.
The camera upgrades are expected to vary across the Galaxy S27 family. While the standard Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ may continue using the same 12MP ultrawide camera found in the Galaxy S26 series, the premium Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra are rumored to receive more significant improvements. These higher-end models could feature a new 50MP ultrawide camera along with an upgraded front-facing selfie camera, offering better detail, wider dynamic range, and enhanced video capabilities. Samsung is expected to launch the complete Galaxy S27 lineup, including the Galaxy S27, Galaxy S27+, Galaxy S27 Pro, and Galaxy S27 Ultra, in early 2027.
