Samsung Galaxy S26 series production delay could push launch date
Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S26 series might see a later-than-expected debut, as new reports suggest a delay in production could push its launch into March 2026. Traditionally, Samsung unveils its Galaxy S lineup in January, setting the tone for the year’s smartphone releases. However, sources from Korea indicate that the company’s revised manufacturing timeline could disrupt this pattern, fueling speculation that fans will have to wait a bit longer for the next generation of Galaxy flagships.
According to the report, mass production of the Galaxy S26 Ultra is now scheduled to begin in December 2025, while the standard Galaxy S26 and S26+ models will follow in January 2026. Originally, Samsung planned to start producing all three models simultaneously in December, but the adjustment suggests the company is taking extra time to refine certain models before entering full-scale production.

The delay appears to be linked to the cancellation of the Galaxy S26 Edge variant, which reportedly altered Samsung’s development roadmap. With the Edge model scrapped, the company must now focus on developing the S26+, a process expected to take an additional month or two. Despite the setback, the Galaxy S26 Ultra and base S26 are said to have completed development, signaling that Samsung is prioritizing quality and readiness before mass rollout — even if it means a slightly later launch.
