Samsung’s 1TB Galaxy S26 Ultra Could Be Extremely Costly
Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra could become the most expensive Galaxy S device yet, with a new report pointing to a significant price jump for the 1TB variant. According to Chosun, Samsung has finalized the South Korean price of the 1TB Galaxy S26 Ultra at 2,545,400 won (around $1,760), marking an increase of 418,000 won (about $289), or nearly 20%, compared to the same configuration of last year’s model. The expected hike is largely attributed to rising component costs, particularly for memory chips, which have put growing pressure on smartphone manufacturers. An industry insider noted that the Ultra lineup depends heavily on high-capacity storage, and the recent surge in memory prices has disproportionately impacted higher-capacity models like the 1TB version.

Other storage options may also see increases, though less dramatic. The 512GB Galaxy S26 Ultra is reportedly priced at 2,059,000 won (approximately $1,424), up 11.3% from its predecessor, while the 256GB variant could cost 1,797,000 won (around $1,242), reflecting a 5.8% increase. Final pricing could still change, and it remains unclear whether markets like the United States will face similar hikes, as earlier reports suggest they may not. Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S26 series on February 25, with pre-orders opening the same day. Early buyers may receive perks such as free storage upgrades, and U.S. customers can also take advantage of the company’s Mystery Box program, which includes bonus accessories like a 65W GaN charger, phone case, stand, and cleaning kit.
