Apple’s foldable iPhone could be hard to get at launch
Apple is reportedly preparing to refine its ultra-thin smartphone strategy with the rumored iPhone Air 2, following mixed reactions to the first-generation model. While Samsung's Galaxy S25 Edge initially sparked interest in slim flagship phones, recent reports suggest Samsung may not continue the lineup due to underwhelming sales. Apple, however, appears committed to the concept and is expected to address some of the original iPhone Air's biggest shortcomings. According to reliable leaker Digital Chat Station, the iPhone Air 2 could feature a dual rear camera system with a 48MP main sensor and an ultra-wide lens, replacing the single-camera setup that drew criticism. The battery is also rumored to increase from 3,149mAh to 3,500mAh, potentially delivering better battery life without sacrificing the device's signature slim profile.

Beyond these upgrades, the iPhone Air 2 is expected to retain its sleek design while offering premium hardware, including a 6.55-inch OLED display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. The device is also rumored to be powered by Apple's next-generation A20 series chipset, built on an advanced 2nm process, promising significant gains in performance and efficiency. If these leaks prove accurate, the iPhone Air 2 could stand out as the only ultra-thin flagship smartphone on the market next year. The biggest challenge for Apple will be integrating a larger battery and dual-camera system while preserving the lightweight, ultra-slim design that made the original model appealing to many users.
