Samsung announces AirDrop support for Quick Share on Galaxy devices
Samsung has officially announced that Quick Share will soon support AirDrop compatibility on Galaxy devices, making wireless file transfers between Android and Apple users easier than ever. This long-awaited feature will allow Galaxy smartphone and tablet users to seamlessly share photos, videos, and documents with iPhone, iPad, and Mac users without needing third-party apps. The update will start rolling out on March 23, 2026, beginning with flagship devices like the Samsung Galaxy S26, Samsung Galaxy S26+, and Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra.
The rollout will first begin in South Korea and will gradually expand to global markets including Europe, North America, Japan, Southeast Asia, and Latin America. With this integration, Samsung becomes one of the first Android brands to offer native compatibility with Apple’s AirDrop-style sharing, following earlier developments seen on Pixel devices. The feature is expected to significantly improve convenience for users who frequently transfer files between different ecosystems, especially in workplaces and households where both Android and Apple devices are used.
