iPhone 18 Pro ‘leak’ claims everything is going well
We’re in the final days of February, and Apple’s flagship launches are still more than six months away, but a new report suggests the company is making solid progress toward the iPhone 18 Pro. According to leaker Fixed Focus Digital in a recent Weibo post, the iPhone 18 series is already in “mass production testing,” and the iPhone 18 Pro production line has reportedly begun operating. While the leaker didn’t cite a specific source, it’s possible the information comes from contacts within Apple’s vast supply chain. Even so, the timing wouldn’t be surprising. Apple’s hardware development cycle typically moves through Engineering Validation Test (EVT), Design Validation Test (DVT), and Production Validation Test (PVT) before full mass production, and late February is about when DVT transitions into PVT.

What’s less clear is how the standard iPhone 18 fits into this timeline. The initial reference to the “iPhone 18 series” suggests it may also be included in production testing, which would be unusually early given that model isn’t expected until spring 2027. It’s possible the base model is still in an earlier validation phase, or that translation nuances from Chinese created confusion. Another theory is that the leaker may be grouping a potential foldable iPhone into the 18 lineup, especially if it launches alongside the Pro models. Regardless, more details will likely emerge as Apple moves closer to its usual September unveiling.
